COVERED PORCH ADDITIONS
A custom covered porch is one of the best ways to expand your living space, enjoy more time outdoors, and add lasting value to your home. At Coogan’s Design-Build, we are a trusted covered porch builder in Charlotte creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces that feel like a natural extension of the home.
Whether you want a quiet place to relax, a shaded space for entertaining, or a fully upgraded outdoor living area with a fireplace, kitchen, or custom lighting, our team designs and builds covered porches that are made for the way your family lives. We proudly serve Charlotte, Pineville, Ballantyne, Matthews, Waxhaw, and surrounding communities.
As an experienced design-build general contractor, we handle the entire process from concept to completion, including design, planning, permitting, construction, and finishing details. Charlotte residential additions and exterior projects often require permitting and zoning review, and working with an experienced contractor helps the process move more smoothly. You can review City of Charlotte permitting information for more details.
A well-designed porch should do more than provide shade. It should connect naturally to the home, improve comfort through more seasons, and create a usable outdoor room. NC State Extension notes that outdoor living areas work best when they are easily accessible to indoor living and kitchen areas, which is exactly how we approach covered porch design.
Our custom covered porches can include:
Traditional and modern covered porch designs
Vaulted, flat, tongue-and-groove, and stained wood ceilings
Screened covered porches for added comfort
Outdoor fireplaces for warmth and atmosphere
Integrated outdoor kitchens and grilling areas
Ceiling fans, recessed lighting, and heaters for year-round use
Composite decking, pavers, tile, stone, and other durable flooring options
Columns, trim, railings, and finishes matched to your home’s architecture
Many homeowners start with a covered porch and then expand the project into a full outdoor living space. If you are planning a larger backyard transformation, explore our outdoor living spaces, outdoor fireplaces, and outdoor kitchens pages for ideas.
Because Coogan’s Design-Build is a full-service design-build company, we can also coordinate your covered porch with nearby hardscape, landscape installation, drainage improvements, and other backyard features so the finished project feels complete and well planned.
